The Regional Planning Agency and Activate Chattanooga enable a process that prioritizes all elementary and middle schools in Hamilton County, TN each year and invites them to participate in the countywide comprehensive Safe Routes to School program.  The program provides free opportunity for the school to learn about Safe Routes to School, access to bicycle and pedestrian safety classes, and grant assistance. 

What makes our program comprehensive?

Each year the program invites a new round of prioritized schools to participate.  For the 2006- 2007 school year we had eight schools and we expect another 8-10 to participate in 2007- 2008.  If your school is interested and would like more information, please contact Melissa Taylor at (423) 757- 5216 or via email at taylor_melissa@mail.chattanooga.gov .
